twitter Jalebi Bai Mallika Sherawat

I signed up for twitter a very long time ago in June 2009. But at first, I couldn’t comprehend what is going on. Much later, I started having fun. Thanks to @MallikaLA (Mallika Sherawat) who replied to one of my twits. I thought she being a celeb won’t reply me. But she not only replied but also she clicked the “follow me” button – only celebrity following me!

Way back in 2009, not many celebrities from India joined Twitter. She is early bird in the twitworld as far as Indian celeb joining Twitter world is concern. At that time big names from Indian film industry was not there. I remember Gul Panag (@gulpanag) was twitting heavily and she was leading in numbers of followers. But later Mallika Sherawat over took her with highest followers following any Indian celebrity then. Even some newspapers were following her twits and reporting her activities taken from twits into news article.

Though things have changed now in the past three years! Now big names from Indian film industries have joined the most happening social network with followers running several hundred thousand.

Still @MallikaLA is very popular there in twitter world. I like her twits, because she connects to fans very easily and replies to almost everyone. Even she is following her fans as well. Her fan following in twitter is 366000 and she is following a little over 200000 fans including me. That is great about her. Her account was verified earlier than lot of other Indian celebs. Besides, she was one of first few celebs to have visited Twitter head quarters in San Francisco.

She is also very active in Facebook.

Very often, she will post per latest pictures. Recently she posted her photos from Dubai (she was there for Premier of Hindi movie “Azaan” (check her photos at http://bit.ly/oa0QW9)

Early this month (Oct 2011) she was in Chennai, India for a shooting of a Tamil Item song with Tamil popular hero Simbu. She immediately posted her picture from the shoot there in the twitpic. The item song was actually Tamil re-mark of hugely popular Item Song “Munni Badnaam Hui” from Hindi movie “Dabaang”.

Mallika Sherawat started her filmi career in 2003 with Hindi movie “Khwahish”. The movie was in the news because raunchy kissing scene. The film was flop at the box office. Her film career, as main lead, was going nowhere in India. Then she got an offer to act in “The Myth” (starring Jackie Chan) in 2005. Her contact with Jackie put her in Hollywood circle. She flown to LA and stayed there to complete two English movies “Hiss” and latest release “Politics of Love”.

She appeared in Song and Dance “Mayya, Mayya” sequences in 2007 movie Guru. The song was received well. Another of popular item song is “Double Dhamaal”.

I am eagerly waiting to see her “Kalasala” dance in the Tamil movie “Osthe”. Like to see if this can be more upbeat than the original Munni!

The movie is expected to be released on 18 November 2011.
